Jose Amorim Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2025.
Jose Vasco Amorim, a dedicated truck driver and beloved family man, passed away on September 23, 2025, in Twin Falls at the age of 74.

Born on November 24, 1950, in Portugal, Jose came to America in 1966. His journey began in Boston, Massachusetts and eventually brought him to Idaho.

Jose married Shelley Christ in the early 1980's, and their union was blessed with five beautiful children. The two later divorced.

As a Christian, Jose's faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him through both challenges and triumphs. He excelled in his career as a truck driver but was also deeply devoted to his family. He found joy in playing soccer and bonding with his loved ones.

Jose is survived by his sister, Antoinette Galvao, and his valued children: sons Jason, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Josh, as well as his daughter, Jennifer. His legacy will also be carried on by his nieces Marlene (Shawn), Jessica (Jake), Cailene, and Vanessa, along with his nephews Karson, Chris, and Alex, and 12 grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Otilia Amorim; father, Antonio Amorim; brother, Tony Amorim; and sister, Lilia Amorim.

The family is particularly grateful to Pauline Anderson for her unwavering love and care, as well as the compassionate caretakers at Brookdale Assisted Living in Twin Falls, whose support greatly enriched his life.

Jose Vasco Amorim will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his work and family, leaving behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
