Jose Luis Cortez

WHITE SETTLEMENT - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jose L. Cortez Jr., who left us on June 6, 2024. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, an awesome son, caring brother, and exceptional friend.
Rosary: 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Live Oak Chapel at Greenwood, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at All Saints Catholic Church, 214 NW 20th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76164, followed by interment at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Born on December 27, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jose was the 40-year-old child of Jose Luis and Maria Cortez. He graduated from North Side High School. Jose started working for Tarrant County Sheriff's Office on January 5, 2015, assigned to the Booking Division. Jose was promoted to Corporal in June 2019 and to Sergeant in May 2021. Due to his hard work and dedication, he was proudly promoted to Lieutenant on May 25, 2024. Jose is considered to be a hero and loved by all.
Jose met the love of his life, Ana on July 22, 2000. They have been together almost 24 years and celebrated 12 years of marriage. They were blessed with two children, Jacob and Joana, whom they love and adore. Jose was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a man of integrity, always putting his family's needs above his own. Jose had a love for spending time with the family and enjoyed going out for drinks occasionally in his free time. He was known for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and his willingness to help others.
Jose is survived by his wife, Ana Cortez; his children, Jacob A. and Joana A. Cortez; his parents, Jose Luis and Maria Cortez; his siblings, Maria Marta Cortez, Maria Josefina Ramos and Daniel Cortez; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
