Jose E. R. da Silva, 54, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Born in Arco da Calheta, on the island of Madeira in Portugal, son of the late Jose V. and Maria da Luz (Rodrigues) da Silva, he was raised and educated in Madeira. Jose moved to South Africa in 1987 and later came to the United States in 1994 and settled in Stoughton. He moved to Attleboro in 2019 and later to Warren RI, where he spent the last 5 years. Jose was a gifted Jeweler and opened his own store, DaSilva Jewelry Design in Attleboro in 2012, a shop he operated with passion and joy. He enjoyed being a part of the Attleboro community and the relationships he made with everyone there. Jose was a skilled handyman and would always volunteer to help friends and neighbors whenever he had time. Jose was a Boston sports fan, a skilled artist with a beautiful sketchbook, and a fine weekend mechanic. Above all, he was a family man and a best friend to many.
Jose is survived by his beloved son, Peter J. da Silva of Stoughton and his sisters, Maria Teresa da Silva and Lina da Silva, both of Stoughton.
