Jose Angel De Leon, 93, of
Aurora, Il passed away on October 20, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 23, 1932, in Rosebud, TX, the son of Alejandro and Felipa De Leon. Jose was a longtime employee for the City of Aurora and retired after many years of dedicated service. He loved cooking, going to the casino and playing Lightning at the Tiger Club. He was a man who took great pride in the simple joys of life. A dedicated gardener and lover of the outdoors, his yard was always immaculate, a testament to his hard work and care. He had a gift for storytelling, able to bring people together with his warmth, humor, and wisdom. Those who knew him will remember him for his deep and unwavering faith. He was devoted in both belief and practice, living a life guided by his spiritual convictions, and he leaves behind a legacy of integrity, devotion, and love.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years Rosalina; children, Juan (Graciela) De Leon, Guadalupe De Leon Bocanegra, Paulo (Vienta) De Leon, Benito (Diane) De Leon, Rosalio (Mary) De Leon, Jose A. (Leticia Guajardo- Garza) De Leon, Jr., David De Leon, Rosario (Belitza) De Leon, Felipa (Gustavo) Martinez, and Reymundo (Maria de Jesus) De Leon; siblings, Lucia (Joel) Neave and Luciano (Ventura) De Leon. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Alexander in infancy, daughter-in-law Josefina De Leon; sister, Maria Saenz; brothers Sixto and Filomeno De Leon and grandson-in-law Jeremy LoDolce.
Family will be receiving guests on October 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave.
Montgomery, IL 60358. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church,
Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery,
Aurora, IL.
