It is with heartfelt warmth that we remember the life of Jose (Jojo) Mitschek Gutierrez Jr., whose remarkable journey we now honor. Born on January 17, 1950, in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, Jose was a beacon of love, support, and generosity. A charismatic soul, he made an indelible impression on all who crossed his path. As Maya Angelou so eloquently stated, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Jose personified this sentiment, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of all those he touched.

Jose's zest for life was evident in his love for cooking, spending time in his beloved backyard with family, and his treasured cat, Todd. He took great joy in nurturing his vegetable and flower gardens, caring for his ducks and quails, and savouring moments around the firepit.

He traveled extensively throughout his life, exploring many parts of the United States and Canada, as well as destinations across Europe, several Latin American countries, and China. His travels reflected a deep curiosity about the world and a love of experiencing different cultures and places.

A man of accomplishment, Jose earned a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from Far Eastern University. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). He migrated to the US in 2002. He later continued his professional career at Evergreen Hospital, where he served as a Central Processing Technician. Through years of dedicated service, he became known for his reliability and strong work ethic, and eventually retired from Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland in 2014.

Jose is remembered by his loving wife, Regina Casem Gutierrez, his children, Jorein and her husband Noel, Jose III, Jonathan and his wife Samantha, Johann and his wife Amanda, and his grandchildren, Sofia and Zachary. He is also survived by his siblings, Julius, Jennifer, and Evelyn. His parents, Jose Sr. and Judith, and his brother Cesar, welcomed him into the next chapter of his journey.
