Jose Pedro Leitao passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2025, surrounded by love and family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest joy was the time he spent with family and friends.
Professionally, Jose had a long and distinguished career as a fleet chef for Exxon Mobil's maritime division.
Throughout his life, Jose held his family close to his heart, embodying the values of a true family man. His proudest accomplishment was the love and life he built with those around him; his family was everything to him. In his spare time, Jose found joy tending to his cherished flower garden, a reflection of his nurturing spirit.
Jose leaves behind his cherished wife Maria Leitao of Weymouth. Devoted father to Jacqueline Donovan and her husband Joseph of Cohasset, Nelson Leitao of Boston, Brian Leitao of Washington, DC, Jillian Hoffman and her husband Ben of Skillman, NJ, Eric Leitao and his wife Jaclyn of Kingston. Loving “Pai” to his 8 grandchildren Ryan, Madeleine, Alexis, Timothy, Calvin, Gemma, Clara and Ollie. He is also survived by his six siblings, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 6/12/2025 from 6-9 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday 6/13/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jose may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 55 Commercial Street, Weymouth, MA 02188.
