Jose “Joe” Lopes, born February 21, 1949, in the scenic coastal town of Praia da Vitória, Portugal, lived a life marked by humor, humility, dedication, and love. Joe cherished life’s simple pleasures, from his passion for soccer—especially his beloved team, Sporting—to rooting for the Patriots and Bruins. In 1980, Joe immigrated to the United States, bringing with him his infectious humor, zest for life, and steadfast dedication. After spending several years in Cambridge, he made his home in Revere, Massachusetts. Before retirement, Joe devoted his career to kitchen services at Harvard University.
Joe was a devoted husband to Maria Lopes and a loving father to his daughter Paula, her fiancé Joe Ramos, and his son Sandro. His family was his world, and his legacy lives on through them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mateus Borges and Paulina Leonardo.
