Jose Martinez, 74, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and proud Marine, was called to his eternal resting place on September 4, 2025. Born in Raymondville, Texas, on December 7, 1950, to Jose and Margarita Martinez, Jose lived a life full of passion, purpose, and deep love for his family and country.

Joe proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1970. He was a decorated veteran, honored with two Purple Hearts and multiple medals for bravery testaments to his courage, sacrifice, and unshakable sense of duty.

Jose's spirit was creative and hands-on. One of his greatest joys was building and restoring rat rods-unique, gritty vehicles that mirrored his own rugged charm and originality. His garage was more than a workspace; it was a sanctuary where stories were shared, memories were made, and sparks flew.

Above all, Jose was a family man. He shared 30 loving years with his wife, Gloria Martinez, and was a devoted father to Hillary Martinez and Shenee Martinez. His face lit up in the presence of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his love for them was both fierce and tender. He was the kind of grandfather who told the best stories, taught valuable life lessons, and always had a twinkle in his eye.

He is survived by his wife Gloria; daughters Hillary and Shenee; mother Margarita; siblings Olga Martinez, David Martinez, Sylvia Parr, Mabel Galiata, Esther Martinez, and Eddie Martinez; along with 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jose's legacy lives on not only in the medals he earned or the cars he built, but in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
