Jose Refugio Murillo

Jose Refugio Murillo, "Don Pancho", age 91, of Crockett passed away peacefully Friday, August 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Jose was born July 8, 1933 in Degollado Jalisco, Mexico to parents, Pilar Murillo and Catalina Ayala. He worked for many years as a foreman at Northcutt Woodworks.
Don Pancho is survived by wife of 71 years, Rita Castro de Murillo of Crockett; daughters, Gloria and husband, Arturo Marmolejo of Mexico, Alicia and husband, Fernando Hernandez of Nacogdoches, Mary and husband, Ricardo Coss of Lufkin, Rita Isabel and husband, Bernardo Rodriguez of Crockett; sons, Ramon Murillo Castro and wife, Teresa of Crockett, Salomon Murillo and wife, Beatriz of Nacogdoches, Jose Alfredo Murillo Castro of Mexico, Juan Murillo and wife, Brenda of Bryan/College Station; grandchildren, Rigoberto "Junior", Gloria, Felipe, Abigail, Ivett, Ivan, Irvin, Evelyn, Fernando, Anais, Yessica, Teresa, Samantha, Ramona, Kathy, Erik, Jennifer, Celia, Jacob, Jaqueline, Josue, Giovanni, Stephanie, Gabriela, Kevin, Leslie, Wendy, Cynthia and Alejandra; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Murillo Ayala of Richmond, VA, Ramona Murillo Ayala of Mexico. He was preceded in death by sons, Rigoberto Murillo Castro, Refugio Murillo Castro; parents, Pilar Murillo and Catalina Ayala.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice from Lufkin for their compassion and care towards their loved one.
Funeral services for Jose Refugio Murillo will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mr. Cesar Lopez officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to service.
