Jose Alejandro Raya Ramirez

Jose Alejandro Raya Ramirez peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He will be forever remembered as a Godly man and a devoted family man. He was born on December 19, 1973.

Jose's faith guided his life, and he found great joy in loving and caring for his blessed family. He dedicated most of his working life to landscaping, a profession that reflected both his strong work ethic and his love for the outdoors. Over the years, he had been employed with Mountain View Nursery, Boyd's Landscaping and Lawn Care, and Haywood Landscapes, Inc.

Outside of work, Jose found happiness in the pleasures of life. He loved gardening and took great pride in landscaping around his own home. He also enjoyed spending time fishing, and Jose had a love for the open road, driving his 2012 Camaro sports car. He had a keen eye for finding "treasures" at Goodwill – he was always on the lookout for antiques or something special. He was also well known for his collection of leather cowboy boots that everyone admired.

Jose will be remembered as a man who told it like it was – always straightforward. He was a man who had a tough-love kind of spirit; honest, sometimes a little stubborn, but always caring and giving to others.

His presence, his strong faith, and his great love for his family will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Jose is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fidel Raya-Molina and Zenaida Albor-Vasquez; his maternal grandparents, José Refugio Modesto Jesús Ramirez-Hernández and Josefina Eufrasia Raya-Alanis; and his brother, Fidel Raya-Ramirez.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Fidel Raya Albor; his mother, Maria Elena Ramirez de Raya; his sons, Hernan Andres Ramirez and Alejandro Isaac Ramirez; his siblings, Damacio Raya-Ramirez (Carmela Maturino-Raya), Bernabé Raya-Ramirez, Graciela Raya-Ramirez (Hernán Hernández), Hubaldo Raya-Ramirez; Maria Angeles Islas (Mario Islas) and Ibet Raya; nieces and nephews, Yoel Islas, Yoselyn Hernandez-Raya, Lilyan Islas, Saory Hernandez-Raya, Lashmy Hernandez-Raya, Mariano Raya-Maturino and Emiliano Raya-Maturino.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Paul Murdock will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
