Jose Luis Resendiz Chavez

Jose Luis Resendiz Chavez, 66, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away in Chicago on August 10, 2024.
He was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1957 to Jose Luis Resendiz Castañeda and María Teresa Chavez Flores. He moved to Morelia, Mexico with his mother and sister in the 1960s, where he would help his family with their shoe business. His family moved from Mexico to Chicago, Illinois in 1970. Jose Luis attended Blaine Elementary School (1972) and Lake View High School (1976). Jose Luis was the long time owner and manager of Luis Auto Repair that his father opened in 1966.
Jose Luis will always be remembered for his love of music, his family and life. He was always the life of the party - dancing like no one was watching, when everyone was. Jose Luis loved and cared for so many friends and family, near and far. Jose Luis's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him, will always hear him say, "Everything is going to be okay, little by little."
Jose Luis was preceded in death by his mother, María Teresa (2001), father, Jose Luis (2003), and his son, Blake (2013). He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Mshaiel, his wife, Patricia Resendiz, his ex-wife, Kathy Brown-Resendiz, his four children and four grandchildren: Russell Resendiz [Meggie Sasaki-Resendiz], Gregory Resendiz [Cheri Resendiz] (Lucas and Jackson), Matthew Resendiz [Domenica Resendiz] (Ivy [Kristen Resendiz] and Leo), and Paige Ramirez [Adrian J. Ramirez].
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2pm-7pm at Lake View Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL 60657.
