Jose Gavino Trevino, age 63, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at his residence in San Diego, Texas following a long illness. Jose was born in Alice, Texas to Inez and Paula Trevino. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, partner, and friend to many. Jose was known for his unwavering work ethic and kindness. He was a pillar of strength to his family and a man of integrity, always willing to lend a hand or offer sound advice without judgement. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, particularly spending time with his family, reading a great book, or learning about history. Jose also enjoyed traveling or just cruising the town. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, patience, and love that will live on with his family. Jose is preceded in death by his parents Inez C. and Paula R. Trevino, and 3 brothers Juan R. Trevino, Jose Benito Trevino, and Inez Trevino Jr.
Survivors:
4 Children: Jose (April) Gavino Trevino Jr., Jose (Amber) Angel Trevino, Gabriela Trevino, and Cody Ray Trevino
6 Grandchildren: Tristan Isaiah Trevino, Vincent Gavin Trevino, Bella Rose Trevino, Eleanor Rozalie Trevino, Kristalyn June Abrego, and Carla Inez Abrego
4 Sisters; Melissa Trevino, Rosario (Juan) Perez, Sonia (Frank) Perez, and Diana Cavazos
3 Brothers: Felipe Trevino and Federico (Carol) Trevino, and Porfirio Trevino
Long Time Partner: Elizabeth Reyes and her daughter Meilin Miranda
Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousin
Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026 beginning at 10:30AM at the Columbia Cemetery in Duval County (Off of County Road 201)
Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, Alice, Texas
