In Memory of Joseph De Jesus Roman

I will always remember Joseph for his quiet, loving presence - the way he brought peace and calm to my classroom.
He wasn´t able to smile because of his seizures, yet he communicated joy and excitement, whether it was listening to music or bowling.
He made real connections with people - students, staff, and therapists alike - reminding us to slow down, to listen, and to care for one another.
His gentle spirit touched everyone he met and left behind a lasting sense of warmth, peace, and love.
It was the most beautiful wake and funeral Mass, Cohen and Michelle. I felt privileged to have worked with Joseph - and with both of you - and to be there to honor his life.
I remember him always with love.
May his gentle spirit guide us always.

Siempre recordaré a Joseph por su presencia tranquila y amorosa, por la paz y la calma que trajo a mi aula.
No podía sonreír debido a sus convulsiones, pero aun así comunicaba alegría y entusiasmo, ya fuera escuchando música o jugando a los bolos.
Hizo conexiones reales con las personas - con los estudiantes, el personal y los terapeutas - y nos recordaba que debíamos ir más despacio, escuchar y cuidarnos unos a otros.
Su espíritu bondadoso tocó a todos los que lo conocieron y dejó una sensación duradera de calidez, paz y amor.
Fue el velorio y la misa fúnebre más hermosos, Cohen y Michelle. Me sentí privilegiada de haber trabajado con Joseph - y con ambos - y de haber estado allí para honrar su vida.
Siempre lo recordaré con amor.
Que su espíritu bondadoso nos guíe siempre.
