Josefina T. "Josie" Aguirre

Josefina "Josie" Tapia Aguirre, of Castroville, Texas, passed away November 9, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born October 30, 1938 in Castroville, Texas, to Jose De La Luz Tapia and Carmen Espino Tapia.

On July 28, 1960, Josie married Samuel "Sam" Aguirre. They were blessed with fifty-nine years of marriage, three sons, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Mario Aguirre (Sandra) of Denton, Albert Aguirre of Castroville, and Samuel A. Aguirre (Phillip) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Crystal Carruth (Matthew), Andrew Aguirre, and Matthew Aguirre (Myra); seven great-grandchildren; sister, Socorro Cadena; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Aguirre; brother, Guadalupe Tapia; and numerous in-laws and other relatives.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
