Joseph William Amos, Sr., 71, of Aurora, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, in Keysville, VA. Born on February 3, 1953, he was the son of the late Averrett Daniel Amos, Sr.
Joe was a lifelong truck driver, working for Serious Trucking and ACA Logging. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and anything involving his trucks. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Lynn (Blamble) Amos, to whom he was married on February 28, 1992. Also surviving are three children, Joseph William Amos, Jr., and wife Ashley of Aurora, Tyler Wayne Amos and wife Tiffany Miller of Eglon, and Melanie Lynn (Amos) Savage and husband Jacob of McHenry; nine grandchildren, Rylynn Jo Amos, Raiden Wayne Amos, Robinson Joseph Savage, Aurora Gracelynn Amos, Eleanor Kaylynn Savage, Avery Jo Amos, Acie Ray Amos, Evangeline John Savage, and Ryker Reed Amos; and a brother, Jerry Wallace Amos and wife Pammy Sue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Averrette Daniel Amos, Jr.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the Aurora Memorial Building. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11 AM in the Aurora Memorial Building with Kris Hardesty officiating. Interment will follow in the Stemple Ridge Cemetery.
