I worked with Joe at a very formative stage in my career. Ultimately I ran equity trading 33 years of age which was unheard of at the time. He taught me everything I need to know to excel in the business and built a team that was world class in every way. Joe was a true legend in every respect. There will never be another! May God watch over your family and Rest In Eternal Peace. Bob Gasser

I always treasured the moments I shared with Joe - not only a cousin but a true role model. He was always generous of time and did all he could to support everyone. He helped me early in my career with opportunities I wouldn´t have otherwise been shown. He was a treasured family member, mentor and friend. Forever in our hearts, may his memory be a blessing.

As one of the many professionals mentored by Joe, I will always be grateful for the advice, support and friendship that Joe provided throughout my career --- both before I worked for Joe and later when he hired me at Capco. Early on in my career, when we were planning to implement program trading at PaineWebber, Joe graciously shared insights while he was at Salomon since they were the leaders at that time. After Joe hired me at Capco, I was fortunate to truly learn from a master at SIA/SIFMA conferences where he was a celebrity, to world class client pitches where he mesmerized the titans of wall street, to celebrations and events where he was the life of the party and entertained folks with his singing or dancing. Joe, we will all miss you. Rest in peace.

I grew up with Joe, living just below 12th Avenue on 73rd Street. I always found him to be full of fun and mischief and good cheer. Rarely heard a discouraging word from Joe; though we lost contact over the years as I moved several times to different states to work, his later success, love of life and earned accolades are a testament to his character. May his family and friends keep him present in their hearts and minds with treasured memories of a life well lived.Above is a photo of several of Joe's childhood friends, all from 73rd Street, in the narrow corridor between 12th and 14th Avenues. Left to Right: Bob Burkowski, Alfred Grieco (partially hidden), Sal Casale, Paul (PJ) Grieco, Mike Bellini, Rich (Dickie) Princiotta ... circa 1960).

I am so saddened to hear this news. Joe was larger than life and he had a major impact on the trajectory of my own life. So much so that even though I hadn´t seen Joe in several years, I just was telling someone the story, the day before his passing no less, of how in 1979 he took a chance on a 19 year-old kid from Brooklyn and gave him his first real job on Wall Street. So I was one of those hundreds of people that Joe mentored and I will be forever grateful for that. Without Joe, my life would´ve been very different and maybe not as successful. Joe was a brilliant leader, always the smartest person in the room and very fun to work with. He was a good friend to our extended family for many years and I will never ever forget him. God bless you Joe and my deepest sympathy to Lucy and the rest of the Anastasio family.

Rest in peace Joe. Joe and my dad grew up together in Brooklyn. As a child I remember him well. Here's an old picture of Joe and some of his friends back in the 60s. Joe was also very instrumental in helping many of my cousins launch their career on wall street, they all remember him well too. Condolences to all of his family.

Knew Joey from the early days in Dyker Heights Brooklyn in the early 1960's. He was a few years older than me and the guys I hung around with on 13th avenue but we were all friends back then. Even played Raquetball with Joe in the 1980's and he was a fun guy to be around. RIP Joe and condolences to his family.

I was one of Joe A.´s mentees mentioned in his obituary. I met Joe in 1991, and from that day forward he guided my career and counseled me whenever I needed it. He showed me what strong leadership truly meant and taught me to be continuously innovative and unafraid to take risks. Joe was always five steps ahead of everyone else in the room-and just as importantly, he made our work fun.
I owe Joe more than I can put into words, and I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Joe.
