Joseph H. Andrews, 89 of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Shrewsbury Crossing.
Joseph was born in Plattsburgh, New York, a son of George H. Andrews and Caroline B. (Jarvis) Woodbury. He grew up in Worcester where he graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. He enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country proudly from 1956-1960 during the Vietnam War. Joseph worked as a custodian for Worcester Public Schools for over 30 years before he retired. Joseph enjoyed swimming and walking the track at the YMCA and was a choir member at First assembly of God.
Joseph’s wife Judith M. (Edwards) Andrews passed away in 1998. He is survived by two daughters, Karen Fiorino and her husband John and Barbara Andrews all of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Daniela Guzman, Sofia Guzman, Christopher Guzman and Kaylei Carlson; a sister, Carol Andrews of Auburn; a stepsister, June Nuzzolillo of Worcester; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Joseph was predeceased by a brother, Louis “Sonny” Andrews and two stepsisters, Debbie Woodbury and Kay Woodbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joseph’s family on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 11 am-12 pm with his funeral service immediately following at 12:00 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
