Joseph Charles Archibald Sr.

Joseph Charles Archibald, Sr., 95, of Manchester, MD passed away on March 23, 2026 at his home.

Born July 18, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Robert and Grace (née Rosier) Archibald. Twice married, he was the husband of the late Audrey Archibald and the husband of June C. Archibald, his wife of 33 years.

Mr. Archibald honorably served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Germany. He worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric as a lineman for 42 years. He was a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church in Hampstead and Post 200 of the American Legion in Hampstead. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and reading the newspaper.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Joseph C. Archibald, Jr. of Arbutus, MD and Ralph Archibald of Manchester; grandchildren, Patrick Casanova, Christopher Archibald, Hannah Nickens, and Andrew Archibald; great-grandchildren, Seraphin Casanova, Reagan Archibald, Audrey Schoennagel, Charlie Nickens, Max Archibald, and Ty Archibald; and brother, John Archibald of Carney, MD. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Lucy Casanova; his son, Kenneth Archibald; and grandson, Antonio Casanova.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 27, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Greenmount United Methodist Church, 2001 Hanover Pike, Hampstead. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Parkton, MD.
