Joseph M. Archibeque was born in Encino, NM, on July 10,1943, to Maximiliano Archibeque and Dulia Griego. On January 30, 2024, at the age of 80, he passed away in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph graduated from Encino High School in 1963. Soon after, he married Pauline Valencia, the love of his life, on August 25, 1965. Together they built a home full of love and wonderful memories as they raised their children: Denise, Pearl, April, Betty, and Joey, and as they were blessed with the addition of each family member. He was a man who was devoted to God and his church, a member of Latter-Day Saints, and a traveling missionary, deacon, and priesthood.
Joseph was a hard worker and trusted employee, always doing his best to provide for his family. He retired from Creamland. He also had the privilege of working with his Uncle Lucario Larranaga at the Rincones Colorado Ranch (Red Hills) where he fixed fences, cooked and helped with farming. He absolutely loved his cousins and was blessed to be called brother. Joseph also worked at Chevron, Mountain Bell, Leonard Tire, GTL Lanker, and Auto Zone. He was a strong man who was patient and kind. He showed his soft heart as he lit up the room with his handsome smile and as he hugged his kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids so tightly or as he danced with Pauline to 89.1 KANW New Mexico music which he considered the most beautiful music. He loved to go fishing and hiking with his grandsons, and cherished any time he spent with his granddaughters, where he often lovingly shared his wisdom and life lessons. He also enjoyed camping, mechanic work, bowling and traveling. His family was his world.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Nash Archibeque and Victor Archibeque; and brothers-in-law: Evaristo Rivera, Mike Holloman, Efrem Chavez, Ramiro Doporto, and Ernest Garcia.
