Charlotte, North Carolina - Mr. Joseph Pinckney Bagwell III, age 80, of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lancaster, South Carolina, Joe was the son of the late Joseph Pinckney Bagwell II and Maisie Lucille Bagwell. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later enjoyed a successful career as the owner of a textile machinery sales company. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud to be "Grandpa Joe" and will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Bagwell; his proud son, Ryan Bagwell, and wife Amanda, and their son, David; and his stepson, Joshua Martin, and wife Jessica, and their children, Savannah and Charlie. Joe is also survived by his siblings: Mike Bagwell and wife Susan, Scott Bagwell and wife Anne, Stephen Bagwell and wife Gail, and Lisa Bagwell. He will also be missed by his loyal granddog, Beamer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Therrell.
A memorial service to honor Joe's life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 Oakland Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A visitation will follow immediately after the service.
Joe's legacy of love, service, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
