STOW - Joseph F. Ball, 84, passed away January 14, 2026, after several years of battling complications from strokes.
Born in Akron, he was a resident of Stow since 1966. He was an engineer with the expertise at troubleshooting or redesigning machinery, which included several patents. He worked for different companies, Pneumatic Scale being his last before retiring as a consultant for his own company, Machine Design.
He was a member of the Stow Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 57 years. Being a minister of Jehovah and teaching truths of the Bible, along with his family, was his greatest joy.
He was instrumental in helping others, including his family, to put faith in Jehovah and his promises and believe in the wonderful hope for the future. He enjoyed taking part in building new Kingdom Halls or renovating older ones with his brothers. Joseph enjoyed bicycling, playing guitar and piano, working out, building, hiking, but above all, spending time with his family. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather, as he enjoyed being part of the activities of each.
Preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Ivy Ball, and siblings, Jack, Vernon, Claudette, Virginia, and June.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Karen Ball; sons, Joseph (Christine) Ball, Jr., James (Charity) Ball, and Kenneth (Cheryl) Ball; grandchildren, Forest (Jennifer) Ball and Saphire; his sister, Mary Jane, and brother, David.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Stow Kingdom Hall, 4092 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224.
