Joe was my best friend in college. An unfailing giver of warmth and wisdom for everyone in his circuit. What a splendid man.

Such a special life, lived by such a special, delightful and giving man. Deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. Even knowing him too briefly was a blessing.

Very sorry to hear that Joe has passed. I had the pleasure of working with him at Wyman Park almost 40 years ago. A prince of a man--personable, knowledgeable and blessed with a quick wit. The world is a better place because he was in it.

When we moved to Homewood one of the first persons we met was Dr. Joe. What a great person, friendly, wonderful sense of humor, and caring in every way. We miss Dr. Joe but know he is in good hands. Johanna our prayers and thoughts are with you and the entire Berman family.

Johanna and Berman family: Dr. Joe was our beloved Homewood Circle neighbor and friend. So many of us enjoyed and were stimulated by Joe's sense of humor, intellect, and engagement in the Frederick community. We were fortunate to know him in his Homewood chapter of life. We will continue to miss him.
