Joseph Boatwright Obituary
Alex was born in Washington, Ga., and was the son of the late Joseph A. Boatwright, Sr. and Wilda Smith Boatwright. He graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School, and then went on to graduate from North Georgia Technical College. He lived in Athens for a number of years, but moved back to Rayle where he spent the last 20 years. He was an architect, and owned and operated AAA Log Homes in Rayle for a number of years. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Phillips Boatwright, by his son Alexander Boatwright III, and by his daughter, Mildred Amy Boatwright.
Mr. Boatwright is survived by three nieces, Keri Kimbrell, and husband Wayne, of Rayle, Kim Avery, and husband Rodney, of Rayle, and Kay Guillen, also of Rayle; and one nephew, Donald Hicks, of Rayle.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Dr. Kenneth Reed officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Chapel.
