Joseph Bouffard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Akin Davis Funeral Home - Fort Myers on Nov. 8, 2024.
Joseph Bouffard passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 31, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born January 19, 1947 and grew up with his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Bouffard and younger brother William "Bill" Bouffard in Red Bank, NJ. He went to Bucknell University before serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He served as a fire captain with the Margate City Fire Department in Margate City, NJ for 25. He also worked construction and owned a baseball card store for many years before retiring to Calabash, NC and then Alva, FL. While retired he continued to work the occasional constructions job, catered and enjoyed playing golf several days a week. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Peggy" Bouffard, whom he was married to for 53 happy years and had three children with, sons Russell Bouffard and Christopher (Julie) and daughter Candice (Peter). He was a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren. Joe loved music, especially Rock and Metal, and always enjoyed watching a good concert. He often golfed and watched sports, especially football. He was a great story teller and could make friends anywhere he went, including probably every dog he ever met. Joe was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, lovable grandfather, a great friend, and a hero. He will be missed but never forgotten. A service in his honor will be performed at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Monday, November 25th, 2024 at 10:30am at 13031 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers FL 33905 followed by a brunch in their Martha and Mary room. All are welcome to attend.
