Joseph Bromberek Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Irwin Bromberek, 77, of South Haven, passed away on March 5, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Joe was born on July 22, 1946, to the late Irwin and Janette (Richards) Bromberek in Chicago, Ill.

Following Joe's wishes, he will be cremated, and services will be scheduled at a later date.

On June 29, 2002, in South Haven, he married Peggy Holmes. She survives along with one daughter, Kristine (Steve) Hoitt, one son, Jason (Mary) Bromberek, one stepdaughter, Lynn (Rick) Kelemen and two stepsons, Tim (Andrea) Holmes and Brian (Becky) Holmes. Joseph is also survived by four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five sisters, and his lifelong friend, Larry Burns. He was preceded in death by 1 brother.

Joe was a U.S. Marine, serving in the Vietnam War where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Prior to retirement Joe was a union painter. He served for over 15 years as a commander for Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 667 in South Haven and a member of The American Legion, Post 49 in South Haven.
