Joseph Telford Broxton, loving father, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025 at age 60.
He was born in Atlanta, GA at Grady Memorial Hospital on Saturday, September 26, 1964 to parents Rebecca Telford Broxton and George Allen Broxton. Joel and his family then moved to Green Street Circle in Gainesville, where he became a Member of the First United Methodist Church, an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Gainesville High School.
Upon getting married and moving to Lumpkin County, he attended Truett McConnell University and graduated with an Associates in Business Administration and Management. He continued his education at the University of North Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Joel had an entrepreneurial spirit and started his first business in Cleveland Georgia, in 1987. He was a participating member in his community and was chair of the Small Business Committee at the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce. He went on to work at Regions Bank for 16 years.
Joel was known for his loving and free spirited nature and enjoyed being in the company of others. He was always helpful and supportive of others. He loved the outdoors and traveling.
Joel is preceded in death by his father George Allen Broxton, and mother, Rebecca Telford Broxton of Gainesville, GA.
He is survived by his daughter, Madeleine Broxton Park, and son, Joseph Telford Broxton, Jr.; brother, Timothy Allen Broxton of Gainesville, GA, and sister, Deborah
Broxton Isaac of Suwanee, Georgia.
