Joseph Burgio Obituary
"Talented automotive machinist & engine builder"
Joseph C. Burgio Jr., 60, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2025.
Joseph was born on June 14, 1965, a son to the late Joseph C. Burigo Sr. and Carole (Lombardi) Burgio, of Waterbury. Growing up in Watebury, Joe attended Waterbury Public Schools and was graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1983. Always being a true gearhead, Joe made his passion a career by owning and operating JB's Motor Repair, where he mastered the art of automotive machining and engine building. He later worked as a contractor for Sikorsky Aircraft for several years.
Joe was a testament to the statement "boys and their toys" always having motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles, and everything in between. He was a true enthusiast of all powersports and automobiles. Many wonderful memories were made over the years snowmobiling in Old Forge, NY, and riding jetskis in the Florida Keys. Always loving his dogs, Joe had some wonderful pets throughout his life including, Buddy, Fuzzy, and Ginger.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Cassandra Sessions and her husband Drew of Dillsburg, PA, his grandson, Colby, and his sister, Sandra Durante and her husband Martin of Waterbury. He also leaves behind his former wife, Karen Nonenmacher and her husband Art, of Prospect, as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was predeceased by his sister, Hope Marie Barone.
Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for Joe will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial.
