Joseph Timothy Castillo, known affectionately as Joey to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born on February 18, 1969, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Joey was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi.
Joey's formative years were spent within the halls of Robert Wilson and CCISD schools. He enjoyed participating in Special Olympics activities, especially bowling and basketball. He and his family gained wonderful friendships by participating in these activities. Joey was also a member of Gary's Raiders bowling team for several years.
Joey loved practicing his Catholic faith alongside his family by attending Mass and events with Catholic Charities Ministry for Persons with Special Abilities.
Joey is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jose and Mary Sue Castillo, and his sister, Melinda Castillo. Despite these profound losses, he continued to live his life with resilience and a kind spirit. Joey had a smile for all who knew him. Left behind with cherished memories are his cousins, aunts, and uncles of the Mijares and Castillo families.
The family wishes to thank all who have been involved in Joey's care.
Rest in Peace, Joey. You were a Special Angel to your family and friends.
