Joseph Peter Crosby Sr.

Joseph Peter Crosby, Sr., "Joe", 86, of Marriottsville, MD passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

He was born on November 3, 1939, in Baltimore, MD to the late William Everett Crosby and Mary Rose Ritmiller Crosby. He was the loving husband of the late Charlotte (Walton) Crosby who he met dancing on the 13th floor of the Belvedere Hotel. They were married on May 6, 1967, for 37 years and blessed with 2 sons.

Joe was a proud graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School, Class of 1957. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. After his service, he spent many dedicated years with the Wolf Organization in York, Pennsylvania, ultimately retiring as a Vice President. Joe was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman who loved spending time outdoors. Gifted with exceptional carpentry skills and a warm, witty sense of humor, he was always ready with a joke or a smile. He enjoyed simple pleasures, too-especially his regular visits to the Starbucks in Eldersburg, where he could often be found wearing his favorite red baseball cap, savoring a chai latte' while doing his crossword puzzles.

He is survived by sons Christian Burke Crosby and wife Christine Brown Crosby and J. Peter Crosby, Jr. and wife Heather Livesay Crosby; sister Carolyn Marie (Crosby) Farrell and grandchildren: George J. Harrison, Jr. and fiance Emilie R. Killian, Amanda C. Harrison, Brigit Cathleen Crosby, Colin Burke Crosby, Makayla Nicole Crosby, Ethan Joseph Crosby and Ava Renate' Crosby and great-granddaughter Aubrie Rose Harrison.

He was predeceased by siblings Elizabeth Mary "Bibbs" Doerer and William Burke Crosby.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:45 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a time or remembrances and a Catholic prayer service will follow at 5:45PM.

Those desiring may make memorial donations to his high school alma mater at Mt. St. Joseph High School.
