Joseph was born on February 19, 1958 and passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Joseph was a resident of Texas at the time of passing. He was raised in Texarkana, Texas and graduated from Texas High School in 1976. JC attended the Millard School in Oregon and subsequently received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management in 1981. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Randolph Air Force Base Chapel No. 1 in San Antonio, Texas. Those attending the memorial service who do not have a military ID or common access card should allow time to register at the Randolph Air Force Base main gate visitor center. JC often rode his motorcycle to funeral and interment ceremonies for homeless veterans to honor their service. Interment will be at the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado at a date to be determined. Donations in memory of Joseph C. Crownover III may be made to Haven for Hope https://www.havenforhope.org/Donate Haven for Hope is a San Antonio-based organization that aids homeless individuals and helps fund funeral expenses for homeless veterans.

Thank you JC and Marie for the times we got to share. Though they may have been infrequent, we thoroughly enjoyed the friendship, the many laughs and the fun conversation about our loyal Norwich pooches....all while enjoying some of those crazy two-for-one meals in Gruene, TX.

Thank you also JC for your service to our country, both in the United States Air Force and a follow-on career dedicated to our nation's border security. We owe much to protectors like yourself who are always willing to answer the call.

And thank you dear brother for willingly and openly sharing your strong Christian values by giving your time to our country's homeless and needy. You gave so much to strangers, family and friends during your time on earth.

May your loved ones and all who have known you find true comfort in the wonderful memories you've left behind and in knowing you are now peacefully resting in the hands of our Lord and Creator. Please save places for us all at the table for our next get together. We'll have some catching up to do.
