JOSEPH J. CUCCHIARO

1927 - 2022

CUCCHIARO, Joseph J. Age 94, died peacefully on March 12, 2022 at Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Capobianco) Cucchiaro. Mr. Cucchiaro was born in Boston on May 24, 1927 to the late Carmelo and Pasqua (Infantino) Cucchiaro. Joseph was raised in Boston's North End and was a graduate of Charlestown High School and attended Curry College. On August 13, 1948, he married his wife Helen in St. Leonard's Church in Boston, and they enjoyed over 68 years of marriage together. A World War II Navy veteran, Joseph was deployed on the U.S.S. Taconic and was awarded a World War II Victory Medal for his service. Once a professional musician with the Peter Cutler Band in Boston, he became well-known as a classical music Radio Announcer under the name Joe Cook for radio stations WCRB, WEZE and several other prominent stations in the greater Boston area during his broadcasting career. Joseph subsequently entered the real estate profession based on the North Shore of Boston. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed many years of cruising with his wife and family. Joseph personified the virtue of unconditional love and was adored by his wife, family and friends. He is survived by two sons: Stephen Cucchiaro of Boston and Paul Cucchiaro of Rockport; and five grandchildren: Charlotte Ames of New York City, Connor Bair-Cucchiaro of Boston, and Sophia, Matthew and Christopher Cucchiaro of Rockport. He was predeceased by his brother Emmanuel Cucchiaro and his sister Nancy Ciarcia. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret's Church, 672 Hale Street, Beverly on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Visiting Hours will be held from 4 – 7 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, BEVERLY.
