Dr. Joe helped me tremendously about 10 years during a rough time. I only learned of his passing as I was looking him up to reconnect with him. So sorry I missed this and so sorry for the families loss. He was truly one of the most caring and genuine people I've ever known. I still often reflect on stories he told me as I'm going though life.

I just learned of Joe's death today 10/03/2019.
The memories of our adolescent friendship flowed flawlessly into
Our adult years. On multiple occasions Joe contacted and visited me
in Washington DC on his professional conferences.
Joe had a goodness and intelligence that did more than strike my heart, they struck my Soul! Rest In Peace, my friend.

I just learned of Dr. Joe's passing. Words cannot describe the respect and appreciation that I have for this man. Although our relationship was technically a Dr./patient, he was so much more to me. A mentor, a voice of reasoning, a business advisor, a person that I truly admired. Although I'm confident that he knew, I wish I had the opportunity to thank him for all of the wisdom, kindness, humor, and tools that he has provided to me over the years. Such a legacy. Such a special person.
Thank you Dr. Joe, your lessons are life-long.
My sincere condolences to his family. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Dr. Joe was always warm and compassionate when ever we would talk, never judgmental or negative. I will never forget his words to me - "we are always a work in progress". I will greatly miss our times together and my condolences to his family for such an unexpected loss of such a wonderful man. Thank you Dr. Joe.

I met Joe in the late 70's and saw him at intervals in the 80's and 90's. He provided important support and guidance at times when I was most troubled.
We had not been in contact for many years, but he came to mind often over those years. He was a good man and a very good counselor. He sits in a special place in my heart.

I just learned today about Joe's recent passing. I just began to see him this past spring, professionally, and was developing a new and personal counseling relationship with him. I knew something had to be wrong when I arrived for my latest appointment the first week of September to find the Emergency sign on the door and no call from him- he always called if an appointment change was necessary. I was truly a blessed man to have been in Dr. Joe's company for the time I knew him. I knew we had more work to do but will savor his wise words and suggestions for they were subtly helpful. Blessings to your family and know that he was truly loved by many.

I'm saddened to hear of Dr. Joe's passing. He helped me more than words ever can really express. He had a natural kindness about him that made me feel comfortable talking to him and the advice that he gave was never judgmental. He helped me make sense out of the things in life that don't always make much sense. He was a light in this world and will be missed.

I came to Dr. Cvitkovic a broken woman. He was my friend and mentor for 12 years. Without him I would not have been able to rebuild my life. Today I remember our talks and more than once I wrote down the critical things he said to me. I hope we will see each other again someday.

Nancy and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Joe was a great man! I worked with him for 8 years at Jefferson, he was easy to work for and so kind. I will forever remember his apron he used to wear while handing out trays for our holiday meal at the hospital...his apron was monogrammed with Ho Ho Joe. I will miss his smiling face and the thumbs up sign he always gave.

Like you, I will miss him. Peace and good health to family and friends.

Dr. Joe was an amazing person. I only knew him as my doctor, but he has left a life long impression on me. He was patient, kind, caring, intelligent, funny, and just a overall great guy to be around. He truly was a bright light in this often dark world, someone who made everyone else around him better.
You will be missed dearly. Thank you so very much for your help and guidance. You have forever changed my life for the positive and I will never forget you. May you rest in peace good friend.

What a remarkable man that we are honored to have known. One is reminded from a quote by Mother Theresa.

Joe lived this every day, He lives on in the hearts of so many forever.

Anyone who knew Joe was blessed to have him in their life. Joe was my friend, colleague, and we became each other's work spouses. We would leave meetings and immediately talk about why things weren't going to work and how we could do it better. Our days of yoga classes were funny cause we would get sleepy instead of energized. His wisdom, sense of humor, overwhelming concern for others and his story telling plus more made him my gift in life. Joe and I both had great difficulty retiring from something we loved. He counseled me on retiring and then he didn't do it til later. Rest In Peace my friend. I'll always have you in my life with wonderful memories
