Publish in a newspaper

Joseph Antony Degnan Jr., 74, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away at home on September 7, 2025.

Born on February 23, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island. Joseph was the son of Joseph Anthony Degnan Sr. and Ruth Alice Casey Degnan. He was a devoted husband to Linda Degnan and a proud father to Nicole Degnan, Shannon Dymek, Joseph Degnan III, and Micheal Degnan. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Helana Conover, Eric Riendeau, Parker O'Grady, Liam Degnan, Paige Degnan, Aaralyn Dymek, Ivy Dymek, and Caiden Dymek. He was also a beloved father-in-law to Danielle O'Grady, Jennifer Degnan, and Aaron Dymek.

Joseph is survived by his sister Joyce Arnold and brother Paul Degnan. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Rojas and brother Robert Degnan. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Known for his dry wit and deep love of history, Joseph could often be found immersed in documentaries on the History Channel or challenging someone to a thoughtful game of chess. He was remarkably intelligent and had a quiet passion for music, especially in his younger years when he played acoustic guitar.

Joseph earned his master's degree in Computer Science from the New England Institute of Technology and dedicated many years as a computer programmer for the City of Pawtucket before retiring.

Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His humor, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will remain in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to join his Visitation in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 4:00-6:00pm with a Chapel Service to follow at 6:00pm, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick.
