Joseph DeLong Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. - Allentown on Dec. 9, 2025.
Joseph F. DeLong, 58, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at home, with his loving wife and step-son by his side. Born May 17, 1967, he was the son of the late Joseph Yagerhofer and Irene (Schoenenberger) DeLong. He was the husband of Joan (Jordan) DeLong, with whom he shared 19 wonderful years together. He was an employee at Mack Trucks for over 27 years. In his spare time, he loved repairing and refurbishing old arcade games and pinball machines. He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be remembered for loving pepperoni pizza with extra cheese with an ice-cold Pepsi.

In addition to his wife Joan, Joseph is survived by his step-son Tyler Sandt, sister Lora Collette. He was preceded in death by his brother, David DeLong.

Services were held privately. Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Joe was my ex-husband. He was fun and had many friends. We just weren't good partners, but we remained friends. We were, in fact, almost always friends, rather than husband and wife, which is why our relationship was admired by many and they were surprised when we divorced.

That being said, I hope Joe's life was most enjoyable as our time together was a lot of fun. We were young and our goals were different as we grew into adults. If anything, our divorce made him jumpstart his life in an effort to better his own goals and dreams. Rest in Peace, Joe. Just know, you were loved by many.

Joe was a good friend. We both loved arcade games and pinball machines. We worked on a few machines together. He was a smart man with a good sense of humor. He will be missed. Joanie, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
