Joseph Michael "Mike" Dersin
On Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, Mike passed into the arms of Jesus. He was a patient in Devlin Manor since January, fighting COPD. Mike had not been in good health following several surgeries last year.
Born August 4, 1962 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sue (Beery) Dersin.
Mike was a 1980 graduate of Frankfort High School.
He had worked at Sollenberger's Hardware Store in Winchester, followed by the Frankfort Public Service District. More recently, Mike had been a handyman, taking on all sorts of jobs.
Mike had more friends than most and never met a stranger. He would give you anything you needed. He always had a joke and a smile. Everyone will miss his big laugh.
He enjoyed fishing and camping along the river, playing in the Fort Ashby Post #6667 pool league, playing board games, and cooking.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Cathy; children Drew Perry and wife Lindsey and Aaron Dersin and wife Sarah; step-children Jessica Keel, Amber Barncord, and Jonathan Barncord; and, dearly loved by his 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Terri Laughlin and husband Dan and Eric Dersin, along with his nieces and nephews. Mike also loved his three fur babies, Ying, Yang, and Shadow.
At his request, Mike will be cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fort Ashby V.F.W. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3 PM - 6 PM
