Joseph DeSmit Obituary
Joe had two sons from his first wife - Jeffery Wayne DeSmit and Forrest James DeSmit. Jeffery died on September 21, 2022. Forrest, his wife Erin, and daughter, Jaylin, reside in Watauga, Texas. Forrest's step-son, Quentin Armstrong his wife Zoey, and their son, Atlas, live in Fort Worth, Texas.
Karen is still alive and resides in Little Elm, Texas. Joe has two step-sons, Mark Lee Long, who lives in The Colony, Texas. and Micheal Andrew Long who died January 16, 2013.
Joe joined the First United Methodist Church after he and Karen Married in 1991. He was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and was very active on the church Missions Committee until his health declined.
He was cremated by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Memorial service is pending and will be held at a later date.

Joe and I were classmates at St. Mary's Elementary School and Reicher Catholic High School in Waco, Texas for many years. Always jovial and positive, he was a good guy to have around, an exemplary Boy Scout, and a sweet soul. Rest in peace with Our Lord, Joe. See you some day beyond the veil.
