Joseph DiBenedetto

I use to live on Bennet Ave. in the house in back of Joe's house, back in 1955-1956. We became good friends. I remember we use to sneak smokes in the old Dodge car that Joe's Dad had sitting in his backyard, we hid our cigs out there. Those were the days we wore the motorcycle jackets, jeans and engineer boots and rockn' roll (Elvis) was just getting started. Those were great times. My Dad was cutting down an old cherry tree in our backyard ( on Bennet Ave) and he had me , Joe, and my brother Jim (about 8 years old at the time) hang on to a rope tied to the tree to help the tree fall the right way. Needless to say that did not go as planned and the tree fell towards the house next door to us. With luck the tree didn't do any damage, but it sure made us freeze for the moment. I hope these things might make you smile at the right time. I know I'll always remember Joe, with a smile. God Bless You All!
