I just found the attached photo after submitting by earlier remembrance. The photo was taken in August 1968 just after the Awards Ceremony at Clemson University where I received my MS in Dairy Science. I unfortunately don't have a photo from 1970 when I received my PhD. Dr. Joe was my mentor and friend. Just in case your eyesight isn't what it used to be, that's Dr. Joe on the left - lol.

I was Dr. Dickey's first graduate student at Clemson in 1965. He was my Major Prof., mentor and friend. We were together for five years while I earned my Masters and Doctorate. I lost touch with him after, but those five years were great years. Dr. Joe, from the very beginning, cared deeply for his students and was a great guy to know. He and Anne were a great couple, and Katrina and John were great kids too. We learned this first-hand as we grad students were invited to his home and enjoyed watching the kids grow up before our eyes. Over the past 53 years I very frequently thought back to my days at Clemson in the P&A Building and all the good folks I knew and counted as family - especially Dr. Joe. To Katrina and John - your Dad was special and meant a lot to a lot of people. He is at home now and at peace. He was blessed in this life, and he is now truly blessed.
