Joseph (Joe) C. Dickson, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28th at Clara Maass Medical Center at the age of 89.
Joe grew up in Montclair and graduated from Montclair High School in 1953. He graduated from Washington & Lee University in 1957 and Rutgers Law School in 1960. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in April 1961. He practiced law in Upper Montclair for over 50 years; he was the Assistant Township Attorney and Prosecutor from 1966 to 1976 and the Township Attorney from 1976 to 1993. His last law firm was a partnership with his son, J. Craig Dickson III.
Joe was preceded in death by Joan, his wife of nearly 52 years. He is survived by his sister Mary Legge of Dallas, TX; his five children: Jean Anne Rose, Patricia Rosinski (Roger), Mary Jane Trainor (Patrick), Craig Dickson, and Jennifer Fletcher (Duane); nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1st at 11 am at the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Endowment Fund, PCUM, 53 Norwood Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ 07043.
