Joseph DiMatteo Obituary

Joseph “Joe Joe” DiMatteo, 33, of Townsend, De, succumbed to his injuries on November 9, 2021, sustained in a motorcycle accident. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is deeply saddened, and still in a state of shock. Joe was born on January 6, 1988 to Joseph DiMatteo and Jennifer Vickers in Chester, PA. Joe spent his younger years in Ridley, PA with his father, before moving to Marcus Hook with Aunt Vic, where he spent his teenage years. Joe received his GED from Glen Mills School, as well as graduated, and earned his High School Diploma from Chichester High School in 2006. He was a member of Local 542, District 5 for 6 years, however, became a member in 2013, after working for his grandparents at K.V. Excavating and Wastewater, LLC. Joe was an avid fisherman, however, the greastest catch of his life came when he met his wife, Jess. He loved spending hours on the water on his boat, as well as cruising around town on his Harley. He was also very active in his eldest son, Joseph, Jr’s, love of playing football for M.O.T. Football, and never missed a practice or game. Joe was married to his high school sweetheart Jessica Marie DiMatteo (Montgomery), of Linwood, PA. They just celebrated their second wedding anniversary in Cancun, Mexico, and were expecting their fourth child, but first baby girl, Jolie Maze DiMatteo, in April 2022. Jolie was born sleeping on November 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph DiMatteo, Sr. Anyone who knew Joe, knew that he was a kind, loving, caring, and hard working man who made sure his family was taken care of. Joe’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph DiMatteo; Paternal Grandparents Mary and Anthony DiMatteo; Uncle Vincent C Vickers, and cousins, Bobby O. Vickers Jr. and Vincent D. Vickers. Survivors: Beloved Wife: Jessica Marie; Sons: Joseph Charles, Jr., Jacob Cash, and Jagger Crue DiMatteo; Mother: Jennifer Vickers; Sisters: Jessica Blackwell (Albert) and Jamie Trusty (Zakey); Maternal Grandparents: Bobby and Karen Vickers; Aunt: Vicke Vickers “Rosie”; Uncles: Bobby Vickers (Susan), Anthony DiMatteo (Tracey) and Thomas DiMatteo (Susan); Cousins that were more like siblings: Cheyenne Jones and Leigha Mann; Nephews: Bryson DiMatteo, Kolton DiMatteo “Chewy” and Kamryn DiMatteo; Nieces: JaeLynne Horne and Kaylei Trusty. Dear Jessica, there are no words to express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. This unimaginable tragedy has taken a young devoted husband, father
son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend from us and he will be deeply missed by all, but none more than you and your boys. I will continue to pray for you and your family that each day your pain is less than yesterday. Love And heartfelt sympathy, Aunt Jeanette - Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and He will direct your path.
