Joseph Warren "Joey" Early

Joseph Warren "Joey" Early, 19, beloved son of Stephanie Sloan and Rob Early, passed on from this life on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Joey was a 2013 graduate of Corinth Holders High School. His passions included hunting, football, baseball, and the NCSU Wolfpack. He had delightful, charming, quiet and comforting presence that will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He touched a lot of hearts and was loved by many. Joey is survived by his mother: Stephanie Warrick Sloan and husband, Brian of Wendell; father: Rob Early of Garner and wife, Jamie of Wake Forest; sister: Hunter Early of Wendell; brothers: Gavin A. Sloan of Wendell, Garrett Champion of Wake Forest, and Tyler Sloan of Wendell; grandparents: Linda "Honey" Early of Knightdale, Robert and Susan Coley of Littleton; uncles and aunts: Troy Early and wife Rhonda of Knightdale, Heath Early of Knightdale, Tiffany Bacon and husband, Doug of Youngsville; Jo Barwick and husband, A. G. of Wendell; cousins: Chelsey Early, Ty Early, Charli Paul, T. J. Early, Colton Bacon, Justin Bacon, Ally Barwick, and Jordan Barwick; his girlfriend of four years: Madison Massey. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, J. O. Early, Jr. and his uncle, Officer Charles R. Paul, III – his fallen hero. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 10, 2014 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Corinth Holders High School Athletic Booster Club, 6875 Applewhite Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
