Joseph Gerald Eaton, age 70, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 4, 1955 in Adrian, MI a son of the late Gerald Everett and Geraldine Ruth (Handy) Eaton. On April 30, 1976 he married Julie Ann Parros and they have shared over 49 years together.
Joe started working at Plywood of Tecumseh when he was 16 years old then moved to concrete/construction around 1978 working for various companies and later becoming a supervisor before retiring at the age of 65. Joe enjoyed camping, watching Nascar racing and helping his granddaughter with her Go-Cart racing. After retirement he spent his winters in Florida but most of all he loved spending time with his family and walking his Abby girl all over town.
Along with his wife, Julie, Joe is survived by his children, Jeremiah (Tammy) Eaton and Jenna (Ben) Dejonghe; siblings, Mike (June) Eaton, Dan (Joanne) Eaton, Roger (Cassandra) Eaton and Lisa (Randy) Klager and two grandchildren, Cadence and Charlotte. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Cole.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 1pm at the A J Smith Recreation Center in Tecumseh. Inurnment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, Lenawee Humane Society, Tecumseh Fire Dept. and American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
