JOSEPH JOHN FERNANDES JR. (Joey and Peco) age 71, entered eternal rest on July 28, 2025, at St. Raphael Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. Born on December 18, 1953, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Peco lived a life marked by dedication to his work and deep connections with those around him.

"Joey and Peco" known to many, attended school and worked in Bridgeport Connecticut. Throughout his years he became well known to many for his style and humor. His wardrobe was a living testament to the fact that the style was his language all on its own, speaking of confidence, individuality and profound attention. His humor brought laughter and joy into the lives of others. It made life a little lighter and more enjoyable for everyone around him. Joey enjoyed spending time at Boston Avenue and Northeast barbershops located in Bridgeport. Here he shared personal connections, told jokes and stories. Joey was full of life and will forever be missed.

In 1979 he met Tonya Marie Little, predeceased, and went on to have one son, Anthony Joseph Fernandes, wife Sacha Latrice (Burton) Fernandes, He later met and is survived by his beloved spouse, Cordelia Anita Graham of Bridgeport; his children Latoya Shanta Mckoy and husband Patrick Mckoy Sr; Jermaine Little; Steven Burroughs and wife Nyree Burroughs; Eurjay Graham; Shataya Graham; Ryshon Graham all of Bridgeport.

Peco was a proud grandfather to Amya Fernandes, Alesia Collins, Samuel Montanez Jr, Savonnie Profit, Patrick Mckoy Jr, Jermara Little, Syntia Burroughs, and Steven Burroughs Jr.

He is also remembered lovingly as the older brother (the only brother) by his sisters Antoinette "Missy" Fernandes, Donna Juanita Fernandes, and Lori Fernandes-all of Bridgeport-as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Michael Anthony Fernandes, Jasmine Fernandes, Akeem Fernandes, and their children: Ma-Klah Fernandes (grand-niece), Michael Anthony Fernandes (grand-nephew), and LilaBlu Jackson (grand-niece)

Joey was predeceased by his father Joseph John Fernandes Sr., mother Juanita Conry, paternal grandparents Manuel E. Fernandes Sr. and Geniva Fernandes, maternal grandmother Marie "Tilly" Carter, and aunts Stella Fernandes, Dollie Fernandes, both of Bridgeport, Teresa Lopez, Rhode Island, Priscilla Gonsalves, Preston and Mary Dennis, Massachusetts, and uncles Manuel E. Fernandes, II, Bridgeport and Alfred Fernandes, Spain. Peco's companion Cloe.

May Peco's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and may he rest in peace surrounded by love everlasting. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the Service will follow at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Morton's Mortuary, 25 Margaret E Morton Lane, Bridgeport, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family.
