Joseph E. Ford Jr. 77, Havertown PA, passed peacefully on July 9 th, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia PA to Eileen (nee Moxey) and Joseph E Ford Sr.
Joseph graduated in 1964 from St Thomas More High School. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam war. He exemplified resilience, loyalty, and bravery both on and off the battlefield.
He took much pride in his work with the Philadelphia Inquirer and later, owning his Tastykake route. Joseph’s kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and his warm smile lit up any room he entered. Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Catherine V. (nee Hampshire) Ford. The loving Father of Stacy M. Ford, Joseph E. Ford, III (Stacy), Janet L. Ford, and Stepson, Donald Miller (Catharine). Adoring Grandfather of Andrew S. Ragland Jr (Pegah), Dylan Ford, Landyn Ford, Reagan Ford, and Great-Grandfather to Zaynab Ragland. The caring brother of Eugene Ford (Donata). He is preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Ann Ford, and his brother John Ford. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, July 19th and 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, July 20th at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
