Joseph L. Frenza, a resident of the Bronx, passed away on March 9, 2022, at the age of 85.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Carmela, his loving children, Jay (Millie) & Karen (Rusty), his adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Danielle, Michelle & Victoria, as well as his siblings, Anna Marie & Daniel. He was predeceased by his sister, Leonora.
Joseph was born August 6, 1936 at University Heights Hospital on West Tremont Avenue in the Bronx to Leonard and Rose Frenza. Joseph was their pride and joy and earned the nickname "Buddy" by his family. He had a close relationship with his cousins, but was looked up to by his siblings. Danny his youngest brother said "my brother will always be my buddy".
Joseph was a gifted athlete who enjoyed biking, playing street ball with the neighborhood kids and was always there for his children. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and had a successful career at The Adstat Corporation for 40 years. He was particularly skilled at lithography and photography. He loved gardening, family get-togethers and was an advocate for stray cats that were abandoned in his neighborhood. He adored all of his grandchildren and created a special bond with each one of them.
Joe was blessed with a beautiful life – filled with the love of his family who will cherish the memories of his humility, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity and friendship.
He will be forever in our hearts and forever missed.

The family will be present on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 2-6 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services- 732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 14, 2022 - 10 AM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Following the Funeral Services, Joseph will be laid to rest at Saint Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue- Bronx, New York.
