Joseph was born July 21, 1938, in Council Bluffs, to Warren and Lillian Moon Gilmore. He worked as a truck driver, and last for the International Nutrition Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond; and sister, Lillian.
Survivors include his wife of 53 and a half years, Bobbette "Bobbie" Gilmore, whom he married on June 16, 1959; daughters, Shelly Stokes and husband, James, Stephanie Gilmore, of Kansas City, Kan.; grandsons, Joseph Robert Stokes, Timothy James Stokes, Scott Michael Stokes, and Nickalas Allen Stokes; brothers, LeRoy, of Council Bluffs, Lloyd and wife, Karen, Michael, and Lyle Gilmore, all of California, Don Gilmore and wife, Donna, of Colorado; sister Cathy Gilmore, of Texas; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family, Sunday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral services Monday, 11 a.m., all at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Walnut Hill Reception Center. Memorials are suggested to Creighton Cardiology.

Bobbi,
I was out of town at school all of last week and just saw the notice on the door at Curves. I am so sorry, I know how close you two were and after all these years it will be extremely tough for you to go on, but your love will bring you happy thoughts.
