Joseph Godish Obituary

Published by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2022.
Joseph P. Godish, of Levittown, PA, 38, whose loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew and loved him, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. A graduate of Pennsbury High School, Joe was an exceptional athlete and played JV basketball and was the captain of the Varsity baseball team. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Bloomsburg University and went on to a career in sales. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Joe. He loved being around family and friends just sitting around having a beer and poking fun at others and debating anything sports, but especially his beloved Atlanta Braves. What brought Joe the greatest joy was spending time with his precious son Angelo, playing catch, the Madden NFL video game, teasing each other, and cheering Angelo in his jujitsu, soccer, flag football, and basketball games. Their relationship was a beautiful and blessed one. Joe's pleasant and fun filled personality that was contagious to everyone he met will be sorely missed. He was a caring friend to many and lived his life striving to be humble and kind. Husband of the late Laree (Higgins), Joe was the proud father of Angelo who he constantly reminded was his "guardian angel, his world, and his everything." He is also survived by his loving parents Diane (Bannon) and Thomas Godish, several aunts, uncles and his younger cousins who worshiped him and remember him as "Master Joe Cool." He will also be sadly missed by his cherished in laws, MaryJo and Jim Higgins and their loving family including, RT, Angie, and Jimmy along with his extended families of Sonia Evola and her loving family, and Anne and Rich Dippolito and their daughter (Joe's sister) Nicole, along with the closest friends and band of brothers who surrounded him with support and encouragement throughout his life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his life celebration Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6-8PM at Beck/Givnish Life Celebration Home, Inc., 7400 New Falls Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 28, 2022, 9:30AM at St. France Cabrini Catholic Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills. There are no calling hours Friday, and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph's name can be made to the Livengrin Foundation at www.livengrin.org

I went to BU with Joe. Always thought he was such a stand up guy. Grounded. Kind. Gentle spirit. While we never kept in touch, I remember him. And I share my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I imagine how deeply loved and missed and cherished his memories are God bless you and keep you.
