Phyllis Shebik Obituary

Phyllis Jane Shebik a lifelong resident of Wheaton Visitation for Phyllis Jane Shebik (nee Stone), 88, will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the services at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Christ Community Church, 602 E. Geneva Road, Wheaton. Interment will be in Wheaton Cemetery. Born Dec. 15, 1916, in Wheaton, she passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at home. Phyllis was a member of a pioneer DuPage County family and former owner of Stones Jewelry in Wheaton. She was a member of the Society of Mayflowers Descendants, the Daughters of the American Revolution, a daughter of the Founders and Patriots of America, the Woman Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and the DuPage Historical Society. She bred, trained and showed champion cocker spaniels. She was an avid gardener, volunteer and genealogist. She was the beloved wife of the late Emil; loving mother of Steven (Megan) Shebik; cherished grandmother of Brian, Matthew and Sarah; fond sister of Charles (Marie) Stone; and dear aunt of many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hampden Dubose Academy, P.O. Box 639, Zellwood, FL 32798, The DuPage Community Foundation, 2100 Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 or Christ Community Church. My heartfelt condolences to the Shebik family.

As you know, Phyllis will always hold an honored place in my heart.She was a lovely, gracious "lady". It was my privelege to care for her when she needed assistance.
