Joseph Guyt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Homes Inc - Monroe on Feb. 25, 2026.
Joseph Timothy Guyt, 62, born on November 27, 1963, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Central Valley, New York. He was a devoted and loving father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend to all who knew him.

Joe truly found his calling in his career as a Producer. After graduating from Eastern New Mexico University and Ramapo College of New Jersey, he started his career at a local cable company, where his passion for creative production began. Over 35+ years in the industry, he became an award-winning producer of countless on-air commercials and digital content. He produced both large-scale global productions across six of the seven continents and local projects for small/medium boutique agencies. Some of his highlighted work included IBM, PepsiCo, Dos Equis, ExxonMobil, Dunkin' Donuts, NY Life, NBC Universal, and GNC. Joe poured his heart and soul into every production, but he was most proud of the relationships he built and the stories he helped bring to life.

His work allowed him to travel the world, and he always returned home with colorful stories of being on set and adventures with colleagues who became close friends. Joe had an appreciation for TV and Film and always shared his reviews and recommendations with friends. Everyone who knew him knew his favorites were Seinfeld and The Godfather.

Joe always had a passion for music. He began as a disc jockey during his time in college and remained an avid concertgoer throughout his life, always eager to discover new artists and explore different genres.

Joe treasured his summers in Long Beach Island with his daughter, who was the love and light of his life. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and a close circle of friends. Joe was a gracious host of many holiday and backyard parties, where he had an open-door policy, and everyone was always welcome.

Joe was an active member in the community, where he belonged to the Woodbury Community Association. He was also a devoted parishioner at The Parish of Sacred Heart & St. Patrick.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Quinn; his brothers William (Julie) and Daniel (Jennifer King) Guyt; his former wife and friend Alice Guyt; and lifelong friend, Alan Wright. He is also survived by his 16 nieces and nephews: Kristi, Stephen, Rachel, Colleen, Ashley, Kathleen, Eileen, Erin, William Jr., Patricia, Alison, Maryellen, Lucas, Noah, Amanda, and Julianne. Predeceased by his loving parents, Lillian and Henry Guyt, and his two brothers, Henry (Julie) and Douglas (Jo) Guyt.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 27th, 2026, from 5-8 pm at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Rd, Monroe, NY 10950. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Washingtonville, NY.
