Joseph Clinton Harrison

Joseph Clinton Harrison, 86, of Rosewood, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012. A graveside service with military honors will be on held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at the cemetery. Joe was born on September 16, 1927 in Craven County to the late Heber and Rieta Rice Harrison. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and retired in 1970. He worked for many years with the Wayne County Department of Social Services, retiring in 1993. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Bouser Harrison; his three sons, Mike and Sheila Harrison of Sanford, Mark and Diane Harrison of Elizabethtown, and Steve and Cheryl Harrison of Rosewood; and one grandson, Josh Harrison of Greenville. Joe was well known in the local community for many years of officiating sports. He particularly enjoyed officiating baseball, softball, football and basketball.
